Marriott launches first hospitality media network

Monday, Marriott announced the launch of the hospitality industry's first media network, powered exclusively by Yahoo.

In a press release, Marriott announced the kick off of the Marriott Media Network, an "omni-channel cross platform ad solution for brand advertisers" connecting them to travelers with personalized feeds tailored around suggested products and services.

Initially, the platform will only be offered to U.S. and Canadian travelers, though global expansion is in Marriott's plans including the over 164million members of its award-winning travel program, Marriott Bonvoy.

Marriott Media Network aims to help travelers make smarter decisions and have a more fulfilling travel experience as it appropriately includes featured premium inventory and services to assist through paths of purchase, pre-arrival and during the stay.

"We are thrilled to launch the Marriott Media Network, which will enable advertisers to create curated content that aligns with the 30 brands in our portfolio," said Chris Norton, Senior Vice President of Marketing Channels & Optimization, Marriott International. "The Marriott Media Network will foster connections through our owned channels with guests, creating a broader and more rewarding travel experience."

With Yahoo's massive access and expertise in the digital sales space, the Yahoo Ad Sales team will, unsurprisingly, lead the Marriott Media Network's demand generation and sales efforts! Bring on the ads!
