Snapchatters can now change their usernames

Starting today, the most requested feature on Snapchat - the ability to change your username is a reality.

For those of us who have used the platform since its inception in 2011, that means finally upgrading 'ChocolateCutie92' to a more sophisticated name for the you now.

In the past, the ability to update your display name has served as a long-standing band-aid. Now, the healing begin.

To update your Snapchat username:

1 . Tap the Bitmoji in the top left corner of the camera

2. Choose 'Settings' in the top right corner.

3. Tap 'Username' > 'Select Username'

4. Click 'Continue' then type in your new username and hit next.
